Siem Reap to Chiang Mai

We left our nice hotel Diamond D'Angkor and were given going away scarves (just was we had been given flower necklaces on arrival). The staff was so friendly and helpful. We had our own tuktuk with driver and local phone. This hotel really strive for excellence. All for about $70/night!

We flew from Siem Reap to Bangkok and then to Chiang Mai. We planned to have lunch at the Bangkok airport and were initially disappointed to see only american options - subway, dairy Queen, KFC, etc, but then found the Asian food court with Thai, Korean, and Japanese offerings. We had Thai of course. I had a super spicy tomyum soup.
Apparently what defines female in Cambodia is hair and a skinny waist, interesting.

Spices to make your favorite Cambodian dishes.

Adorable airplane designs

Monks and dairy Queen, what else would you expect on the way to Chiang Mai

When we landed in Chiang Mai, it was noticeably cooler. Getting a taxi was a bit annoying but at least we got to watch the sunset.
Our hotel in Chiang Mai was very pretty and centrally located. We actually have you cross a little river with koi to get to the doorstep of our room - very charming.
Clearly the Thai understand the stinkiness of durians
We went to the Chiang Mai gate market for dinner at street side stands and had a great meal for about $6 - for 2. We had skewered meat, dumplings, noodle soup and passion fruit smoothies. Yum!
