New Zealand - day 2

Waitomo Orchard B &B was not much in terms of amenities but it was a beautiful sunrise and view with a yummy breakfast overlooking the rolling hills with cows and rainbow included.

I'm really glad I picked this place. It was beautiful. Breakfast was super relaxing and enjoyable. It was amazing to just go to sleep right after the caves without driving far. I highly recommend this place if you're arriving and doing the caves on day 1 like we did.

Next, drive to Rotorua. I decided to take the slightly longer scenic route along the Waikato River. Totally worth it! Such amazing views.

We stayed in Prince's Gate Hotel. We got room 18 - a corner estate room on the second floor. It was perfect!. 2 floor to ceiling windows with little tables and chairs on the balcony and view of the gardens. It also has 3 hot spring pools! The first thing we did after early check in was order high tea.

But first, as they prepared, we took a walk around lake Rotorua.
High tea
Next week headed off to Okere Falls

In addition to a lovely walk through what looked like rainforest with palms and ferns, we drove over to Tititapu lake.

On the way, stoped for photos of black swans.

Another rainforest like walk
Tititapu lake, aka as Blue lake

Finished off the day with dinner at Atticus Finch. Everything there was novel and yummy. And this was my drink - passion of the Finch

Last but not least and a wonderful way to end the day, a soak in the hotel geothermal pools.
