Iceland day 11 - drive around Troll peninsula

The drive from Akureyri to Hvammstangi take 2.5 hours. Adding on the Troll peninsula adds an extra 1.5 hours. It was a tough decision but we ultimately decided to do it because so many people raved about the views along the route. We were not disappointed.

Town of Dalvik:

Mígandifoss Viewpoint - see waterfall falling into the sea

look

Passing through mountain tunnels - surprisingly long

Siglufjörður - home of the Herring Era Museum - I actually wanted to go but it wasn't open yet - winter schedule. However, I got to see what I wanted about the herring girls and the tools they used so I didn't' stay for the museum to open.

Back on the road:

Turf houses - Icelanders still primarily lived in these until 2 generations ago. Now they are mainly used for livestock.
