Another beautiful day in Paradise

Water bungalows in Fiji area truly idyllic. I woke up during the night and took a peek outside. The sky was full of stars. The moon was hidden and so the number of stars I could see were unbelievable. I felt like I was the only one on the island. There was a nice breeze off the water and it was actually a bit chilly.

Breakfast was yummy. Actually all the food here has been really great. Lunch yesterday we had a curry fish that was really good. For dinner I had a perfectly cooked piece of salmon. All the meals come with an amuse bouche and palate cleansers in between the courses. Definitely fine dining.

We went for 2 dives this morning at the camel hump and votu (turtle) ridge. We didn't see any turtles but did we a white tipped shark. There were also many schools of fish plus a couple I had never seen before. It was a great start to our dive vacation.

Arrived in Fiji

After a relaxing and comfortable 11hr flight in business class, we arrived in beautiful Fiji. We took a ferry to our resort. It was a pleasant 2 hr ride along the Mamanuca islands.

Likuliku lagoon resort is amazing!

The place is beautiful and relaxing. All the sitting areas have amazing vistas of the ocean and provide shaded and sunny lounging spots.

The water bungalows (called over water bures here) are everything I hoped them to be. I can see the next 2 island from our patio which is perched over the water. There's also parts of the room where the floor is glass so we can see straight down to the water. It's mesmerizing.

We went for a swim and snorkel from our patio. We saw the beautiful blue starfish and a surprising number of large parrot fish and many baby fish. When we came back, we took an outdoor shower to rinse off and laid out on the love seat on the porch. It's literally a dream come true. I love it!

Getting to our flight

We started off with a trip to the airline lounge where we enjoyed some relaxation and snacks while awaiting our layover to Fiji. When we got to our gate however, we learned about a last minute gate change and ended up waiting almost 2 hours before finally boarding. But arriving in business class was worth it.

Off to Fiji!

We're off to dive and relax in the beautiful islands of Fiji. We're flying Fiji airways and they offered the chance to bid on a business class upgrade and we got it! I can't wait!
