After our morning adventure with a family of gibbons, we
returned for main breakfast – yes, there’s light breakfast, main breakfast,
lunch, tea, and then dinner here. The food here is pretty good. They say Malaysian
fare with rice and curries and veggies.
There’s always watermelon as dessert which I love.
We then headed out for a drive around the reserve. We saw a couple bird, an angry macaque,
elephant dung and 2 bearded pigs eating the dung, and a Malaysian fowl. But the
real highlight was the Lipad waterfall which was a short walk from the
road. The water felt icy cold since we were
so warm from the walk but it felt wonderful. We swam up to the waterfall which
was surrounded by a lovely jungle scene. Swimming in the pool and looking up at
the towering prehistoric appearing trees really transports you to another
time. It was really wonderful.
